Title: Workshop on Super-Distributed Intelligent Networking, Computing and Service Technology
Hosted by BK21 team (“Research Team for Super-Distributed Autonomous Computing Service Technologies”) of Hongik University
In the future, numerous information devices will be connected to the Internet. By 2025, more than 50 billion devices will be connected, and new application services linked to them are expected to change the daily life of citizens as well as the industrial environment. Data is at the center of these changes in the Internet environment. In 2020, 2.3 trillion gigabytes of data is distributed every day, and the amount of data and services using this data are expected to increase rapidly and diversify.
However, the current connection-oriented IP protocol-based Internet, cloud-oriented computing model, and a centralized and closed service infrastructure centered on cloud operators are expected to be impossible to cope with the huge amount of data, rapid growth, and soaring data-oriented service variations. That is, current centralized architecture and platforms for communications networks, computing and services need to be remodeled and reconstructed.
As a part of the contributions to resolve the aforementioned issues, distributed-manner-based and non-location-based technologies such as Information-Centric Networking (ICN), Distributed Computing, Federated Learning, Blockchain, Micro-Service, Edge/Fog Communications-Computing, etc. have been actively investigated.
In response to the above momentum of interest and popularity, the proposed workshop aims at providing an interactive platform for industry and academic to timely exchange research, findings, and key technical challenges associated with Distributed Computing, Networking, and Services. In this context, papers are solicited reporting on the following representative and important topics, but not limited to:
- Super-distributed network/computing/service architecture
- Distributed service applications (Vehicular networks, IoT, Computing, Federated Learning)
- Software for Distributed network/computing/service
- Methodologies to use micro-service for distributed systems
- Network Protocols, Resource Allocations, Software Validations for Super-distributed environment.
